Small-Scale Study of Mooring Line Tension Thresholds Based on Impulsive Load Analysis during Big Floating Structure Operation and Commissioning

Marine wind energy business competitiveness is strongly related to offshore substructures and their logistics. With the aim of avoiding oil gas methodologies reduce installation costs, some designs make use multi-floater systems linked by cables. Optimization these in search larger operational windows increments likelihood snap-load event occurrence. This work describes analysis cable load during physical model simulation a DEMOGRAVI3 procedure applying statistical signal-processing methods. The authors describe simple methodology define maximum threshold for given mooring line set-up order avoid snap loads.
